How do internal communicators handle the introduction and use of social software in the workplace?
My research questions the widespread assumption that professional communicators push out information instead of listening. It is through empirical research that I try to find answers to a set of longstanding questions.

I made it my mission to get my research "out there". To do this I have chosen to go fully digital. It is a fascinating time to work in the field of internal communication. Ever more researchers are dedicating their time to learn about the mechanisms behind the best practices that are showcased at conferences worldwide. Practitioners have leaped forward and started to do their own research to systematize what "works" and what "doesn't ". Unfortunately a substantial part of this knowledge is "lost" due to the fact that it is not getting published but (jealously) kept indoors. In this "network society" ( ;-) to Castells ) the spirit of the Creative Commons often still has to find its way into many fields of business. Internal communication is not an exception.
